Instructions for Marathon participants
Dear participants of the Čiker MTB Marathon,
To ensure the marathon runs smoothly and maintains a positive atmosphere while achieving its primary goals—having fun and enjoying the natural beauty of the areas we visit—it is essential for all participants to familiarize themselves with the event timeline and some basic rules:
Event Timeline
1. Registration and Accommodation Reservation
Marathon registration must be completed on the club`s website.
Accommodation reservations are also made on the website, where participants can choose specific facilities at set prices. The total payment amount will be displayed after selecting the desired option.
2. Before the Marathon Begins
Participants will arrive in Kraljevo for registration, settle any outstanding payments, and collect their luggage tags, T-shirts, brochures, and accommodation details.
Participants who provided their T-shirt size during registration will receive it immediately. Those who did not will select from available sizes on-site.
Luggage labeling: Each participant will receive three numbered tags from the organizer. These tags must be securely attached to their luggage (e.g., around a handle or another visible spot). If a participant has more than three pieces of luggage, they should tie additional pieces together to ensure all items are clearly labeled. The luggage delivery will be organized based on the accommodation selection made during the reservation process.
3. During the Marathon
Morning briefing: A briefing will take place before the start of each day to review the route and key information for the planned stage.
Daily ride: The route will be divided into stages, allowing participants to ride at their own pace.
Accommodation: Participants will be assigned to facilities based on the reservation list.
THE BASIC RULES
- Adherence to Schedule
It is essential to respect the timetable for each activity, including departure times, morning luggage drop-offs, and the designated times for arrival at each overnight location.
- Daily Briefings
Each day, before the start of the stage, a brief meeting will be held where the organizers will provide participants with information about the planned route (including details on the path, rest stops, points of interest, and notable locations along the way).
- Essential Gear
During the stage, participants are required to carry a backpack or pannier that contains a raincoat, basic tools (such as a pump, spare tire, etc.), and enough food and water for the day’s journey.
- Event Updates
Information about the Čiker MTB Marathon will be regularly updated and made available to all participants on the official club website: www.cikermtb.com, the MTB Club Čiker Facebook Group, and the Viber group.
- Inquiries
If participants have any questions about the Čiker MTB Marathon, they should first check the available resources on the Čiker Club’s website, which include texts, photos, videos, forms, and brochures. If the information does not answer their question, they may contact us via email, phone, or other appropriate means.
- Role of Organizing Committee
Members of the organizing committee will be easily identifiable and are the only individuals authorized to address questions or concerns during the marathon. Participants who deviate from the agreed-upon route or make decisions based on advice from unauthorized individuals do so at their own risk.
- Support and Assistance
During the marathon, participants will be provided with any relevant updates and can receive technical assistance in the event of severe bicycle damage, as well as first aid in case of injury.
- Bicycle Maintenance
Participants are responsible for the maintenance of their bicycles (e.g., greasing, tire inflation, etc.). They should also carry essential tools, a spare inner tube, and any necessary equipment to prepare for changes in weather conditions.
